Hi stranger, welcome to my not-so-secret diary.
It has been five months since I set up this website, but I have been struggling to decide how to start. I have been thinking about many things, like what if I am not consistent, what if people don’t like it, what if I run out of things to write, or what if this is not what I should be doing. Maybe I am insecure, maybe no one cares, maybe it is all in my head, but I created this blog to help me figure it out. After all, you won’t know if you don’t try, right?
My name is Cynthia Adekanye, and I would like to tell you about the interesting, weird, ugly, crazy, beautiful, messy, and impeccable things that happen in my life. My life is a movie, a very complicated one but it’s relatively interesting and unique. Here are a few unique things about me;
- I am very unserious- maybe this shouldn’t be first on the list since I’m trying to create an impression but it would be so unlike me not to lead with that. I don’t take life seriously and I don’t see why anyone should.
- I am talkative- My conversational skills are off the chart but I tend to avoid serious topics as they bore me
- I am secretive- although that’s ironic given the previous point, I keep many things to myself and I know when to draw the line. I have mastered the act of telling people everything without actually saying anything.
- I’m scared of the unknown and I don’t like change very much. – The entire first paragraph was me screaming “Help, I don’t know what I’m doing”
- I am highly opinionated and I am smart (or, l like to think so)
- I love soft life with a sprinkle of trenches. That’s it, no further explanations.
- God loves me, I love him too.
- I give really good advice, but I wish my friends would listen to me more often.
- I love travelling. Whether I’m going from one state to another or I’m crossing countries, I love being on the road. It’s one of the few things that makes me happy.
- I know many people, but I have very few friends.
- I am very blunt. I always say the truth and get straight to the point. I’m not going to lie to make anyone feel better about themselves. The one thing I’m learning to do is try to be more empathetic in how I express myself.
- I am 5’3, just in case anyone was wondering. I have long legs and a short torso, hence why I look taller in pictures.
- I am addicted to garri. I sniff it, drink it, eat it and swallow it.
- I love football more than I love human beings. Even though my club has made it their mission on earth to make me die young. Good Ebening 🙃
- I switch personalities in a split second. In case you’re thinking about it – No, I am not bipolar. I don’t know how I do it, but one second I’m the fanciest lady on the planet, and the other second I’m MC Oluomo’s wingman.
- MESSI IS THE MOZART OF FOOTBALL and I don’t mind dying to prove it. Scratch that, I kinda like being alive.
Why Cynthia’s Diary?
Even though I’m not entirely sure why, I named this blog in a way that suits my vision for it right now. It’s a lifestyle and travel blog where I write about my everyday life – filtered and unfiltered just like a diary. Everyone’s journey is unique, and this blog is a record of mine. I really hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing about random stuff in my notes.
